3 Months Old

Today, Olivia is 3 months old. She is growing like a weed and has such a personality. She is really beginning to notice her surroundings and interact with objects. Olivia is working on her neck muscles and rolling over (she has rolled over once for us). She has this week and next week at home before she starts daycare. She is about 12.5lbs and ready to start wearing her 6 month clothes. She wore her first pair of jeans this week. This is a big step in every girl's life. We are thankful that she is still sleeping through the night.

Trying to get the blocks.

Going back to work.....

Tomorrow, I go back to work. I definitely have mixed emotions about this. I am sad that I won't be spending all day with my smiley baby girl. Before Olivia was born, I thought I would be going stir crazy at home and be ready to come back to work ASAP. This is not the case though. I really wish I had a couple more weeks to enjoy with her. It would have been great to be off through the holidays but things don't always work out the way you want them to. It is hard to believe that Olivia is almost 3 months old. She has changed so much in such a short period of time. I have enjoyed the past 12 weeks at home with Olivia and Berkley. You can't imagine how much you will love your baby until they actually arrive and touch your heart. Being a parent is definitely a great experience. There is part of me that is ready to get back into the swing of things at work. So I will see how work goes tomorrow........the good thing is Olivia is in good hands this week with Daddy.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Today, we went and got our first real family Christmas tree. We decided that for our First Christmas in our new house and Olivia's First Christmas deserved a real tree. We traveled to a local Christmas tree farm and picked out a beautiful 10ft tree. We got it all set up tonight but we will wait until later this week to decorate it. I love the way a real Christmas tree makes a house smell. I am excited to start making Christmas memories in this house!

Sleeping in Her Room!

Last night, Olivia slept in her bed for the first time. She did great! She fell asleep right away and slept through the night. I hope this is a pattern that continues.

Here are a couple of pictures of her room.

Dresses!

This weekend Olivia got to wear her first dress. She received the cutest Butler dress as a gift. She decided to get dressed up and go to the Butler game on Saturday. We saw the Bulldogs get their first regular season win against Davidson. Olivia slept through the whole game again. The cutest part of this dress is the Bulldog on the butt! I do have to say it almost made me cry seeing my sweet baby in her cute dress. She enjoyed this dress so much that she decided to sport her Colts dress on Sunday for the Patriots game! She tried to stay awake for the whole game with Noll and Molly while Scott and I went to the game (Thanks guys for watching her!). Scott and I had a great time at the game and were happy to get to use our season tickets finally.

How cute is this?

Olivia's New Blanket!

My friend Sarah from college came to visit this weekend and brought Olivia the above blanket. It is a beautiful blanket. I can't believe that Sarah can make such neat gifts. She is so talented at so many things. Olivia loves to play, do tummy time, and take naps on it.

In the past week, Olivia has really started to smile and make baby noises at us. It is really fun to watch her react to Scott and I. She is really changing every day. Olivia slept through the night for us on Tuesday which was great. She slept from 9:30pm to 6am. This was the second time she slept through the night but the first for us. She had slept through the night for my sister Kristen about 2 weeks ago while Scott and I were in Chicago for the night. I guess Olivia wanted to make a good impression for her Aunt Kristen so that she will watch her many more times in the future.

Here are a couple of pictures from the past week.

Ready for bath time.

Peacefully sleeping.

Go Dawgs!

Olivia's First Butler Basketball Game
Last Sunday, we went to the first preseason Butler Basketball game. This was Olivia's first Butler game. She did great! She slept for most of the game. She wasn't phased by any of the noise. She made it through the whole game without crying. Hopefully, she will be this good for all the games we go to this year.
One of the few moments that her eyes were open at the game.

Cute Costumes!

Olivia enjoyed her first Halloween. She liked the pumpkin costume and she didn't cry at all in it. We decided to try out a couple of costumes for our amusement, so see the pictures below. We took a neighborhood picture of the kids and their costumes (Olivia had her pumpkin butt sleeper on for this since she was asleep when the kids were ready to go). After the picture, all of the kids went trick or treating in the neighborhood across the street. We had a great time and the babies behaved.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
This cute sleeper makes me laugh every time we put Olivia in it (Thank you LuAnne-we love it!). We will be trying out Halloween costumes tomorrow and hope to post pictures this weekend of Olivia's first Halloween. Hopefully, she doesn't cry the whole time. The borrowed costume that we will trying has a history of making babies cry so we will see how she does in it.
Here is a video of Olivia kicking and stretching in her Halloween sleeper. Enjoy!

Getting Bigger!

Our baby is getting big! Last week at her 1 month appointment she was 9lbs 1oz and 21 1/2inches. She has outgrown her newborn clothes and is now wearing her 3 month outfits. The 3 month outfits are a still a little big on her. We decided that it was time to starting giving Olivia real baths in her tub and she loved it. She is staying awake more during the day and sleeping longer periods of time at night. Knock on wood, but most nights she is sleeping about 6 hours before getting up to eat. It is so much fun watching her grow.

Olivia is 1 Month Old!

Today, Olivia is 1 month old. It is hard to believe that she is already a month old. Olivia is growing like crazy and I can't wait to see how big she is at her doctor's appointment tomorrow. Our little Birdie is starting to spread out her feedings and sleep longer stretches at night. She is almost completely over her cold. A baby does change your life but it is such a wonderful experience being a parent and loving your little one!

Look at that big belly!

Sick

The whole Alvey house has been sick since last weekend. Olivia has a cold and has been congested. Her congestion has started to drain which is making her breathing and sleeping difficult. We have become dependent on the nose sucker and a saline drops. They make her feel better but she hates the process. I feel bad for our poor baby. Hopefully the movement of her drainage means that she is about over her cold and will be back to normal soon.
Scott is back to normal and I am feeling much better. There is nothing sadder than a sick baby.

3 Weeks Old!

Olivia meets her cousins!

Most of the Alvey family was down this weekend to visit. Olivia got to meet some of her cousins. This was the first time that we got to meet the twins in person. It was cute to see all three babies together for the first time.

Hanging out at home!

I wanted to post a couple of pictures from this week. We have mostly been hanging out at home. We did have Olivia's 2 week doctor appointment on Tuesday. She weighed 7lb 9oz and was 20 3/4 inches. I also ventured out with her alone on Tuesday. She did really good. We went to get my hair cut and visit my friend Eleni. She slept through my hair cut and while we were in the car.

Aunt Kristen got her first babysitting opportunity on Friday night. Kristen and Cory watched Olivia for a couple of hours and they did great. Olivia was so kind to break them in with a huge poopy diaper but they were champs about it.

We broke out the activity mat this week. Berkley was scared of it at first but now is becoming more curious and slowing checking it out. We will see if Berkley decides it is her activity mat.

Olivia watching the cardinals play off game with Daddy. Hopefully, they will play better today.
