Last couple of weekends.....

We have has a busy last couple of weekends. We had our Indians game first base terrace suite three weeks ago. It was very windy and chilly that night. We had a good time hanging out with our family and friends. I didn't get many pictures but here are a couple.

Some of the Alvey brothers- Scott, Tim, and Thomas

We ventured out to the Indy 500 last weekend. It was supposed to be a mild temperature but ended up being quite warm by the afternoon. The morning started out pretty frustrating because we were stuck in traffic on 30Th street for almost 2 1/2 hours (to go about 3 miles) and never even made it into the in-field parking or the lots at the track. We ended up parking at church and walking to meet our friends in the in-field. In the grand scheme of things, the parking ended up working out better though.
I would just like to say that being at the track completely sober is an eye opening experience and everything is much grosser and trashier than I remember. I still enjoyed hanging out with our friends and watching the crazies but I could do without ever seeing the track bathrooms again. Especially since I visited them often since I have to pee so frequently. Our group did provide entertainment for many of the track goers though. Beside a full bar setup, our friend Billy provided the duel shot luge made of ice which ended up being a profitable spectacle. If you are wondering what is a duel shot luge, see the pictures below and all your questions will be answered. I am proud to say that Scott and I did not participate but did find great amusement in it.

Alcohol and mixer poured at the top and end up in your mouth at the bottom.

This past Friday night we went on our annual Bonge's trip. If you are not familiar with this restaurant check out the website. It is in the middle of no where in Perkinsville, Indiana. It has great food that you order of a chalk board and the restaurant is definitely not a looker. The fun of it is tailgating in the parking lot while waiting for your table. We always go with the same group of people, get reservations, assign Designated Drivers (this year the pregnant women fulfilled this duty), and tailgate in the parking lot. We had a great time and can't wait for next year. We got to see Peyton Manning. He was dining in the middle of no where too. We let him eat in peace but he gave us all a wave on the way out. If you ever have a chance to go, I definitely would not turn down the opprotunity.
Our tailgating group at Bonge's Tavern.

Some of us had more fun than the others. I can't say much though, this was me last year, actually she made it through dinner and I didn't last year. But it is all in good fun!

Baby Update!

We had our ultrasound on Friday. Everything looked good and we were so excited to see our wiggly baby. The baby was extremely active! The ultrasound estimated the baby's weight at 8oz and confirmed our due date of September 26Th. As planned, we did not find out if we were having a boy or a girl. Enjoy the pictures of our baby!

Visiting with Mia and Cadence!

Cadence and Mia
This weekend we had Scott's sister Christie and her family staying with us. Mia and Cadence are our nieces . They are 21 months and 4 yrs old respectively . They had lots of fun running around our house, following Berkley around, and playing on our stairs. Playing on the stairs was definitely the theme of the weekend. Here are some cute pictures from their visit.

The Beautiful Weekend!

We have really enjoyed the nice weather the past couple of days. Berkley is recovering from surgery and decided to spend some quality time relaxing on the deck. Her leg is about 85% back to normal and she is moving around much better. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks it will be back to nearly 100%.

The dry warm weather gave us some days to get the yard final graded. The bulldozer worked all day on Friday and most of Saturday smoothing out our yard. Hopefully we will get grass planted this week and start the long process of growing a yard. It is amazing how much better it looks compared to before the grading. It actually looking like a yard not a construction site.

Weekend of Recovery

Berkley had surgery Thursday to repair her ACL on her back left leg. She had her right ACL repaired a couple of years ago. The recovery is going slow and she has spent most of the weekend laying around. After this surgery, she didn't get a cute hot pink bandage like last time. Friday night was a little rough and she was in a lot of pain. But after some pain meds and a good night of sleep, Berkley was feeling much better and starting to touch that paw to the ground. We are hoping for a quick and complete recovery.

The Easter bunny did bring Berkley a new Suspicious Chickie. Her Chickie has always been one of her favorite toys. The picture below shows a comparison of her old Chickie to her new Chickie. See how much Berkley loved the old Chickie. He doesn't even have any stuffing left.

A Baby Bulldog on the Way!

We are excited to announce that we are having a baby! I am 13 weeks pregnant. We had our first ultrasound at 8 weeks and got to hear the baby's heartbeat last week at our twelve week appointment. It is exciting to be through the first trimester and to be able to share our news with all of our friends and family. We have our next ultrasound scheduled for May 1st. We are excited to get a clearer view of our baby. We have decided that we are not going to find out the sex of the baby at our ultrasound. We are going to wait for the big surprise at the end! We have started looking for baby names but we are definitely struggling. So we will see how that whole process goes. It will be a fun next couple of months registering, getting the room ready, and watching me get fat!

Our Weekend!

We got to spend the weekend with my closest friends from my Butler days. We try to catch a Butler Basketball game together each year. This year we got to share Hinkle Field House and BU basketball with the newest member of our group, Owen, Megan and Shane's baby. He got to experience the excitement of tournament time and the extreme heat of Hinkle on Saturday due to the 70 degree weather outside. This is the explanation for the missing pants.

Owen in his Butler Shirt at the game.

All of us at the Butler Game.

On Sunday, I hosted the first play date at our new house. My friends Megan and Tracy had their babies last year 3 days apart. We decided to get these babies together to play. It was a success and they both enjoyed playing with each other's toys. I thought these pictures were too cute to not to post.

Home Sweet Home

We finally got to move into our new house on last Friday, the coldest day of this winter. We spent the weekend and much of this past week settling in and unpacking. We are happy to say we have most of it unpacked and put away. We now are waiting on our new furniture to be delivered to complete some of the rooms. We of course have a couple of minor things to be finished and some concrete, landscape, and outside painting to be finished once spring arrives.

We are so excited to be in our new house and see it all come together like we imagined. It is really nice to have our own space. It was definitely interesting in the rental and we thank Kristen and Cory for letting us stay with them. Berkley was a little depressed last weekend with the all of the commotion of boxes and furniture but she now is really enjoying the house. She loves all the light in the house (especially since we have no curtains right now) and we find her frequently laying in the sunny spots. She has found if she sits on the front steps that she can see out the glass on the front door. She also discovered the deck this week and how if she goes down the steps off the deck, she ends up in the back yard. We have struggled with muddy paws though. We can't wait for grass! Here are a couple of Berkley pictures from this week.

Homeless for the New Year.....

I apologize for not posting any new posts lately. Our computer died before Christmas and I have not had to opportunity to upload any new pictures. I know we had told lots of you we were moving before the first of the year but that did not happen. We did however have to move out of our rental house because someone was ready to move into it at the first of year. So that leaves us homeless until the house is finished. The house is behind schedule due to our trim guys. I know this sounds familiar, yes they were the ones putting us behind initially and once again we are waiting for them. To get our certificate of occupancy, the spindles have to be done on the stairs. The trim guys are the ones responsible for this spindles. So here we sit waiting on them again. The good news is that all the other minor things are getting done before we move in because there is plenty of time to finish them why we wait on the trim guys. Hopefully the house will be done is a week or so. Until then we are staying with Kristen and when we wear out our welcome their we maybe moving onto the Eder house. I will try to get some updated pictures posted soon because has been a lot of things happening in the past couple of weeks.

Little bit of color and some other stuff......

Well a lot is happening at the house....... we still don't think we are going to make our move in date of the second week of December but we are definitely making progress. So I said a little bit of color, well actually it is a lot of color. I am very excited about how the paint colors turned out because they were stressing me out (not as much as the cabinets did but still creating stress). As you will see below, the cabinets are finished and look great. I could not be happier with them. I would highly recommend Miller Maid Cabinets if anyone is looking for new cabinets. The cabinets turned out great and the people were very nice. Later to come this week should be tile, counter tops, and much, much more.

Space for Rent.

We came home from the Colts game on Sunday to be greeted by a FOR RENT sign in the rental's front yard. This might be the first true sign that we are moving soon. I just hope the new house is ready on time. By the way for those of you who have not had the pleasure of coming to the rental house, Yes it does have teal shutters, and Yes it does have a teal front door, Nice huh?

Trim is done! Concrete started!

Our trim guys finally finished on Saturday after being at our house for 6 long weeks. The painters even started invading their territory this week. The painters got the upstairs and most of the basement trim started. Our gracious brother-in-law Chad came up from Posey County (see wedding pictures from previous post) with his two hard workers to pour our concrete. The weather however did not cooperate and they got rained out a couple of days but they will finish it this week. They did get our sidewalk and front porch poured. We are keeping our fingers crossed that everything else will stay on track so we meet our move-in date.

What does that say?

What does that banana say? Why would a banana be pocket size fun? We thought this was pretty humorous sticker for an oversized banana.

Progress is Slow.

We haven't made many posts lately because the trim process has been dragging on for weeks. The trim should have been done in 3 weeks but we are in week 5 now and the trim is still not done. They are even having to redo part of the stairs that we thought was done. Here are some updated pictures. Hopefully the drive way and sidewalks will be started next week and painter.
