Happy Birthday Berkley!

Today Berkley is 7 years old! It is hard to believe that she is this old. Berkley is such a lovable animal that truly believes she is a person. With moving into a new house and the birth of Olivia, Berkley has had a year of adjustments. She has adapted quite well. Berkley used to be the star of our blog but now she has assumed her supporting actress role. She has adjusted to this role and loves her baby sister. Berkley keeps an eye on Olivia and sniffs/kisses her every chance she gets! Berkley is still a laid back dog that loves to play and cuddle!
We could not ask for a smarter, sweeter dog!

She loves sun bathing in different areas of the house.

She finds the ray of light on the stairs.

Berkley and Olivia both love to nap on the couch.

Berkley loves saying hello to Olivia. Olivia loves the attention from Berkley and watching her move around the room.

4 Months Old

Today Olivia is 4 months old. She has grown so much in the past four months. She has become so much more active and entertaining. Olivia is constantly talking to you. She gives you big smiles. She kicks and moves her arms around like crazy. Her neck is getting really strong. With this improved strength, she has started using her bumbo chair. Olivia is now picking up items and playing with them. They all end up in her mouth. We love watching our Birdie grow.

Olivia's Baptism

On Sunday, we had Olivia baptised. It was very fitting that Olivia was baptised on the day that church celebrated the Baptism of Jesus. During the homily, Father Vince reminded all of the meaning of baptism and each of the symbols used in the ceremony. The ceremony after Mass was very nice and Olivia was a trooper through it all. Our good friends Ben and Becky are Olivia's Godparents. It means so much to us that they accepted this responsibility. Scott and I would like to thank all of our family that celebrated this milestone in Olivia's life with us.

Olivia was the 12Th person in my family to wear this baptismal gown. It was originally my mom's. It was then worn by all my aunts, me, my sister, and all of my cousins.

Happy New Year!

We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! This year has been an amazing year for us. Our lives have changed in so many ways. The year began with us moving into our new house in January on the coldest day of year. We were so excited to finally be moving in after the long process of designing and building our house. Along with all of the excitement of moving in our house, we found out that weekend that I was pregnant. My pregnancy went very smoothly and I enjoyed the whole process. During the spring, we had lots of unpacking and settling to do. Berkley had knee surgery on her other knee in the spring too. She made a speedy recovery and is ready to play again. The summer went quickly with all the baby showers and time spent trying to get our lawn and landscaping going. Scott and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary in the beginning of September. It is amazing how time flies. It seems like we just got married last year. Olivia was born just a few weeks later. Olivia has changed our lives in such a wonderful way. It is hard to remember the time when she wasn't with us. We love being parents. Olivia is such a beautiful, little girl. It is amazing how much she has grown in the last 3 months. She lights up a room with her big smiles and chattering. She has such a big personality already. This year has been such a memorable year. We can't wait to watch her grow in 2010. Here are some pictures of our memories from 2009.

Olivia's First Christmas!

Olivia enjoyed her First Christmas. She was mesmerized by the lights on the Christmas tree. She enjoyed seeing all of her family and getting new toys and clothes. She did sleep through about 75% of the gift opening but she is enjoying playing with her new toys. Olivia got her first baby doll for Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at our house with the Hubertz side of the family then traveled to Nana and Papa Alvey's house on Christmas Day. Olivia did a good job in the car on the way down. She slept all but 30 minutes of the 3 hour trip. The trip home was a different story though. She slept only 30-45 minutes on the way home. I can't wait to see her excitment next Christmas.

3 Months Old

Today, Olivia is 3 months old. She is growing like a weed and has such a personality. She is really beginning to notice her surroundings and interact with objects. Olivia is working on her neck muscles and rolling over (she has rolled over once for us). She has this week and next week at home before she starts daycare. She is about 12.5lbs and ready to start wearing her 6 month clothes. She wore her first pair of jeans this week. This is a big step in every girl's life. We are thankful that she is still sleeping through the night.

Trying to get the blocks.

Going back to work.....

Tomorrow, I go back to work. I definitely have mixed emotions about this. I am sad that I won't be spending all day with my smiley baby girl. Before Olivia was born, I thought I would be going stir crazy at home and be ready to come back to work ASAP. This is not the case though. I really wish I had a couple more weeks to enjoy with her. It would have been great to be off through the holidays but things don't always work out the way you want them to. It is hard to believe that Olivia is almost 3 months old. She has changed so much in such a short period of time. I have enjoyed the past 12 weeks at home with Olivia and Berkley. You can't imagine how much you will love your baby until they actually arrive and touch your heart. Being a parent is definitely a great experience. There is part of me that is ready to get back into the swing of things at work. So I will see how work goes tomorrow........the good thing is Olivia is in good hands this week with Daddy.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Today, we went and got our first real family Christmas tree. We decided that for our First Christmas in our new house and Olivia's First Christmas deserved a real tree. We traveled to a local Christmas tree farm and picked out a beautiful 10ft tree. We got it all set up tonight but we will wait until later this week to decorate it. I love the way a real Christmas tree makes a house smell. I am excited to start making Christmas memories in this house!

Sleeping in Her Room!

Last night, Olivia slept in her bed for the first time. She did great! She fell asleep right away and slept through the night. I hope this is a pattern that continues.

Here are a couple of pictures of her room.

Dresses!

This weekend Olivia got to wear her first dress. She received the cutest Butler dress as a gift. She decided to get dressed up and go to the Butler game on Saturday. We saw the Bulldogs get their first regular season win against Davidson. Olivia slept through the whole game again. The cutest part of this dress is the Bulldog on the butt! I do have to say it almost made me cry seeing my sweet baby in her cute dress. She enjoyed this dress so much that she decided to sport her Colts dress on Sunday for the Patriots game! She tried to stay awake for the whole game with Noll and Molly while Scott and I went to the game (Thanks guys for watching her!). Scott and I had a great time at the game and were happy to get to use our season tickets finally.

How cute is this?
