6 Months Old

Olivia is 6 months old today. She has grown so much in the past two months. I am very anxious to see how big she is at her 6 month doctor's appointment (we don't go until April 1st). In the past month, she has learned to roll over from her stomach to back, sleep on her tummy but still prefers to sleep on her back, and basically sits up on her own. Olivia loves to talk to us and giggle. She is constantly sticking her tongue out, trying to eat clothes, and chewing on anything she can get in her mouth. We think she is working on teeth but none have poked through yet. Birdie has a strong personality liker her Mommy and definitely knows what she wants even when we don't know. She is super noisy and loves to watch everything that Berkley is doing. Berkley is definitely going to be her motivation to crawl. We are having so much fun with our baby girl!

A Flipping Machine!

Olivia started rolling over from her back to her stomach yesterday and now she can't stop. She has becoming a flipping machine. I took her out of the bath tub tonight and laid her on her bath towel. Before I knew it, she had rolled off the towel and her bare belly was stuck to the tile floor! I could barely get her diaper and PJ's on her tonight because she was too busy rolling on to her belly. I have a feeling that now that she is rolling, she is not going to stop moving. This curious Birdie will soon be into everything. Enjoy this quick video of her flipping over.

Makenna, Olivia, and Ayela

This weekend we visited Wadesville to celebrate Nana's birthday. Olivia got to spend some time with her cousins. She had lots of fun playing with Aleya and Makenna. She doesn't get to play on the floor with other babies very often. The girls were all very active. They were all grabbing for the same toys and at times grabbing at each other.

5 Months Old

Our baby girl is 5 months old today. Olivia is getting bigger each day and noticing more and more each day. She loves her buddy Berkley and can't take her eyes off of her. We are still working on rolling from her back to stomach. She loves to stand up while you hold her. Olivia is just so much fun!

The monthly picture is becoming more difficult because Olivia wants to play with the blocks.

We tried peas for the first time today. She liked them but did not love them like her oatmeal cereal.

We busted out the activity center a couple of weeks ago. Olivia loves it! She knew exactly what to do. She just started playing with all of the little gadgets and turning her self around in it. It is so much fun just watching her get excited about all the new things she can do. These pictures are from the first time that we put Olivia in the activity center.

Olivia was a little too short to reach the ground. So we put our old pharmacy text books to some good use.

On that same weekend, Olivia's friend Owen stopped by to play. We took their picture together. I can't believe how big they are both getting!

Yummm Cereal!

Since Olivia turned 4 months, we decided to try out cereal for the first time. She was a little unsure of what to do with it at first but was excited to open her mouth for the spoon. By the end, she was actually swallowing it. Olivia has definitely improved her eating skills with each additional try. We are excited that she is having fun eating cereal and can't wait to start other baby food!

Happy Birthday Berkley!

Today Berkley is 7 years old! It is hard to believe that she is this old. Berkley is such a lovable animal that truly believes she is a person. With moving into a new house and the birth of Olivia, Berkley has had a year of adjustments. She has adapted quite well. Berkley used to be the star of our blog but now she has assumed her supporting actress role. She has adjusted to this role and loves her baby sister. Berkley keeps an eye on Olivia and sniffs/kisses her every chance she gets! Berkley is still a laid back dog that loves to play and cuddle!

4 Months Old

Today Olivia is 4 months old. She has grown so much in the past four months. She has become so much more active and entertaining. Olivia is constantly talking to you. She gives you big smiles. She kicks and moves her arms around like crazy. Her neck is getting really strong. With this improved strength, she has started using her bumbo chair. Olivia is now picking up items and playing with them. They all end up in her mouth. We love watching our Birdie grow.

Olivia's Baptism

On Sunday, we had Olivia baptised. It was very fitting that Olivia was baptised on the day that church celebrated the Baptism of Jesus. During the homily, Father Vince reminded all of the meaning of baptism and each of the symbols used in the ceremony. The ceremony after Mass was very nice and Olivia was a trooper through it all. Our good friends Ben and Becky are Olivia's Godparents. It means so much to us that they accepted this responsibility. Scott and I would like to thank all of our family that celebrated this milestone in Olivia's life with us.

Olivia was the 12Th person in my family to wear this baptismal gown. It was originally my mom's. It was then worn by all my aunts, me, my sister, and all of my cousins.

Happy New Year!

We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! This year has been an amazing year for us. Our lives have changed in so many ways. The year began with us moving into our new house in January on the coldest day of year. We were so excited to finally be moving in after the long process of designing and building our house. Along with all of the excitement of moving in our house, we found out that weekend that I was pregnant. My pregnancy went very smoothly and I enjoyed the whole process. During the spring, we had lots of unpacking and settling to do. Berkley had knee surgery on her other knee in the spring too. She made a speedy recovery and is ready to play again. The summer went quickly with all the baby showers and time spent trying to get our lawn and landscaping going. Scott and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary in the beginning of September. It is amazing how time flies. It seems like we just got married last year. Olivia was born just a few weeks later. Olivia has changed our lives in such a wonderful way. It is hard to remember the time when she wasn't with us. We love being parents. Olivia is such a beautiful, little girl. It is amazing how much she has grown in the last 3 months. She lights up a room with her big smiles and chattering. She has such a big personality already. This year has been such a memorable year. We can't wait to watch her grow in 2010.
